Major Flooding From Tropical Depression Imelda Hits Southeastern Texas

Heavy rainfall from Tropical Depression Imelda caused severe flooding in parts of southeastern Texas on Thursday morning, September 19, as seen in this footage, captured in Mauriceville, a town on the Texas/Louisiana border.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency for areas across southeastern Texas.

12 News reported that high-water rescues were underway in Jefferson County, with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office saying over 1,000 people had asked to be rescued.
