Hotel Guests Wade Through Flooded Halls in Beaumont, Texas

Hotel guests waded through flooded hallways in the Courtyard by Marriott in Beaumont, Texas, on September 19 as Tropical Depression Imelda brought heavy rainfall to the area, video shows.

A flash flood emergency was declared for a number of towns in southeastern Texas on Thursday. 12 News reported that high-water rescues were underway in Jefferson County, with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office saying over 1,000 people had asked to be rescued. The Beaumont Police Department said it had received over 590 calls related to the flooding.
