Aerial Video Captures Lava From Kilauea In Leilani Estates

Drone video captured images of lava pouring out of Kilauea volcano’s Fissure Eight in the Leilani Estates subdivision of Hawaii on June 19.

The USGS reported lava from the fissure continued to flow into a channel around eight miles in length that leads to the ocean entry at Kapoho. The lava is believed to be traveling about 15 miles per hour.

Hawaii News Now said many evacuees remain in “limbo” as the lava continues to flow, causing devastation to homes, farms and neighborhoods. Credit: Honolulu Civil Beat via Storyful
